Practical & Technical Input

A garden shaped over time
This garden sits behind a 1940s suburban home and is viewed directly from the main living space, so improving how it functioned for everyday use and entertaining was the priority. The approach focused on working within an existing budget while retaining and improving what was already there.
Original paving and established planting were refreshed and reused to maintain structure from day one. New pathways and paving connected the space more clearly, while a pergola and sheltered seating area created a usable outdoor room at the end of the garden. Planting was selected to introduce colour and seasonal interest while remaining manageable long term.
The result is a garden that feels settled and natural, evolving over time while remaining practical and easy to live with.
